Most people coming into Maine come from the south. If you live further than some of the closer states then you want to fly into Portland Jetport. Renting a car would be a good option because public transportation is limited in the state. From the jetport, take interstate 95 North to 295 North. Continue on 295 until you reach exit 18 into Brunswick. This is route 1. Follow Route 1 North until you reach Bath. The exit to Phippsburg will be on the right. The name of the route to get on is 209. This will take you all the way through Phippsburg.
